When switching operating systems I use removeable drives so I can always have a "trap door," but Windows 10 is the first time I never went back to the previous version to finish projects. I also beta test for two major audio/music products, and running 8 provides a valuable compatibility reference point.īelieve me, I understand! I'm not interested in fixing things that aren't broken, but FWIW, after years of everything working great with Windows 7 and resisting 10 for as long as possible, I was surprised that Windows 10 worked from the start. I've stayed with 8 because we don't really have time to upgrade often, or risk a stable system. Security features are also very different, and 10 was the version that adopted FLAC as the preferred audio format over WMA I totally get your frustration, but from what I understand, the audio stack (e.g., WASAPI) was totally rewritten in 10. Kdm wroteWindows 8 is basically 10 without a few bells and whistles (.)
